After a day and a half of jury selection, the court heard opening statements in a Washington County murder trial yesterday. According to Washington County Attorney, Larry Brock, opening statements were heard and witnesses were called to the stand yesterday afternoon in the case involving Thomas Hansen of Riverside. Hansen is accused of shooting Sharon Kay Gerot at their home in May of last year. The trial continues today at the Washington County Courthouse.
