The Washington School Board has approved their part of extending the life of a TIF district in Washington to fund the development of an existing housing subdivision. Washington City Administrator Brent Hinson says the Highland Park East subdivision was begun in 2001, but for a variety of reasons has not developed as quickly as they hoped. The city needed permission to extend the life of the TIF from the other taxing authorities including the school board and the Washington County Supervisors.  Approval was given by both of those boards.
