A Brighton man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Van Buren County Tuesday morning.  The Department of Public Safety says Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a man wearing a military uniform and armed with a rifle was walking along Highway 2 east of Cantril making obscene gestures at passing motorists.

Shot by an officer was 59-year-old Robert Dooley after he pointed a rifle toward them.  An autopsy was conducted yesterday and the cause of death was a single gunshot wound.  The DCI is still investigating the incident and KCII will bring you more information when it becomes official.
