Law enforcement officers are often making an effort to use appropriate technology to help them do their job. Washington Police Chief Greg Goodman says that the use of computers in squad cars has been very beneficial.

They use a mapping system that can track where officers are located at any given time.  Other new technology like scanners that read many license plates quickly are not being used locally.
