Kukowski and Butterbaugh Sentenced

Two Washington men will spend a considerable amount of time in prison after manufacturing methamphetamine. According to United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt, 58 year old Timothy Kukowski and 50 year old David Jay Butterbaugh were sentenced in federal court on Wednesday.
They had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, in late 2011 or early 2012, at Butterbaughs residence in Washington. Kukowski has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, while Butterbaugh has been sentenced to 17 and a half. Both will also serve 4 to 5 years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the Washington-Louisa County Drug Task Force which includes the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the Washington Police Department, Louisa County Sheriff’s Department, the Columbus Junction Police Department, and the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Department. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
