An 18 year old was sent to the hospital Tuesday after failing to yield to oncoming traffic. According to the Iowa State Patrol Colin Seth Ferreira of Kalona was driving southbound on I380 in Johnson County around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon when he didn’t notice traffic had slowed to a near stop due to another accident.

He then rear-ended a vehicle driven by 22 year old Ola Ahmed of Iowa City. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Ferreira was transported to University of Iowa hospital by ambulance. He’s been cited for failure to stop within the assured clear distance.
