An accident yesterday morning involving a tractor has resulted in a fatality. At around 9 o’clock, 47 year old Brian David Smith was involved in a tractor accident, near the crossing of 218^th Avenue and 120^th Street, southeast of Columbus City.

Smith was flown to University of Iowa Hospitals with life threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

Those who responded include the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, University of Iowa Air Care, Columbus Junction Fire and Columbus Junction Ambulance. The Louisa County Sheriffs Office is investigating the accident
