Demons Ready for Ft. Madison’s Running Attack
Posted: October 12, 2012 @ 8:30 am In Today's Local Sports
The Washington Demon football team plays in Ft. Madison tonight for their last away game.
The Demons are coming off a 62-7 win over Mt. Pleasant, a team that beat Ft. Madison by one point earlier in the year.
Washington has 616 yards through the air, and six touchdowns on the season, while their ground game has been the star of the offense with 1292 yards and 18 touchdowns.
The defense also has forced 22 turnovers this season.
Ft. Madison’s option offense will keep the ball on the ground and give it to one of four players. They have 1071 yards on the ground and 12 touchdowns.
Passing, they have four interceptions and three touchdowns with 800 plus yards.
Head coach Randy Shrader says there is one big key to this game, and it is stopping Cruz Fedler.
“We’ve got to stop No. 13, and we have to do our job on offense, we have to come out of the chute, and we’ve talked about it week after week, we’re in week eight now, and we have to come out of the chute fast, if come out of the chute fast and gain some momentum and get some confidence going and take car of the football we’re going to be okay,” Shrader said. “And we’re need to knock [Fedler] around, we really have to put him on the ground and play physical football with him. If we can do that and take care of the football, I think we’ll be okay.”
Demons and Bloodhounds square off in Ft. Madison and on AM and FM KCII with pregame at 7, and kickoff at 7:30. The one to count on for today’s local sports coverage is AM and FM KCII.
