A contractor has been chosen to perform the asphalt overlay project in Washington. During last night’s City Council meeting, LL Pelling’s bid of a little over $154,000 was chosen to do six different projects throughout the city. These projects will begin next week and each project should take about a week to complete.
As required to be completed by the first of the year, the city is upgrading the tornado sirens at a cost of over $4900.
A new animal protection and control ordinance was passed where animals will need to be on a leash when being walked. City Council member Bob Shellmeyer shared that “it’s the public’s responsibility to make this ordinance work.”
Also approved was a federal agreement with the state department of transportation for work next year on South Iowa Avenue. This will be an 80% cost-share agreement.
