The asphalt portion of Kalona’s 2012 street improvements begins today. According to City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh, road work on the 13th Street cul-de-sac, portions of D Avenue, H Avenue and 9^th street will start today. The work is projected to be done by October 19th.  The asphalt work is being done by Hanson Asphalt out of Iowa City for around $166,000. The work is not expected to cause any detours.
