The latest count of pheasants has been completed and numbers are holding true to predictions.  Andy Robbins with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the drought conditions helped to increase the number of birds this year.

Across southeast Iowa, the average number of pheasants seen in a 30-mile radius was 6.2, an increase of almost twelve percent from last year.  Robbins says this increase will provide better opportunities for hunters this fall.
