Things are going to heat up in Columbus Junction this Friday. Mallory Smith with the Columbus Junction Community Development Center says the 8th Annual Salsa Contest will be held at the Farmers Market. The Farmers Market starts at 4:30 and the judging of the five categories begins at 5:30. Smith adds, to keep things interesting they’ve added new categories this year, including best use of melon, pepper and tomato.
