Kalona is one step closer to getting funds for a trail around the city park.  The Cities application for a REAP grant has been approved by the County and will now be sent to the DNR. If Kalona receives the $75,000 grant their requesting, the money will be used for a 1,000 foot long, ten foot wide paved trail around the city park. According to Parks and Recreation Superintendent, Jacob Anderson, 900 feet of this proposed trail would be the start of the Bunker Mill Trail that will go from Kalona to Richmond.
