The City of Kalona is preparing to start their 2012 street projects. At Mondays City Council meeting, the Council accepted a bid from Hanson Asphalt out of Iowa City for around $166,000.

City Administartor, Ryan Schlabaugh, says the work will start in mid-September and should be done in 2 or 3 weeks.

The work on 9th St, the 13th St Cul-de-Sac, and other patch work near the City Park isn’t expected to cause any detours.
