The Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) is holding a meeting to take public comment on a gas rate increase request from Alliant Energy.  These sessions provide the best opportunity for customers to give verbal comments directly to the board and other parties in a rate case says Rob Hillesland with the IUB.  In this area, a meeting is happening tonight at the Mt. Pleasant Civic Center.

Alliant is seeking a five point six percent rate hike.  A temporary increase of three point three percent went into affect on June 4th.  The Iowa Utilities Board has until March 25th of next year to make a final decision regarding the proposed rate increase.
