ISU Extension Food Preservation Classes Coming
Posted: June 5, 2012 @ 6:23 am In Today's Local News
The Iowa State University Extension is again offering a program for gardeners. Nancy Adrian with the Washington County Extension says Preserve the Taste of Summer is providing both online classes and hands-on workshops to those who want to learn how to preserve foods safely.
There are two online classes which will give background information on safe food preservation. In order to take part in a hands-on workshop, you must first complete one of the online lessons on general food safety practices and canning basics plus one or two subject matter lessons.
To learn more about the Preserve the Taste of Summer course, follow this link describing the workshops [2].
