^[1]The National Weather Service reports that hot weather will arrive today as south winds and sunshine bring highs into the upper 90s over Iowa, to lower 90s over northern Illinois. Another very hot day is expected Thursday, with much higher humidity. Dangerous heat index readings of 100 to 110 can be expected over the entire area Thursday. This level of heat can cause heat related sickness and death.
