County Audit Information Shows Increased Revenue

A report from State Auditor David Vaudt shows Washington County brought in over 32 million dollars in tax revenue during the fiscal year that ended June 30th of last year. The report shows the county retained three point three percent more revenue for county operations versus the last fiscal year. In terms of spending, the county spent a little over 17 and a half million dollars which is less than 1 percent more than last year.
The biggest expenses were roads and transportation, public safety and legal services along with physical health and social services. A copy of the report is available at the County Auditor’s office and the State Auditor’s office website .
