Seven girls’ track and field teams traveled to Columbus Community Friday night to kick-off the outdoor season, and the Washington Demons did so in dominating fashion, winning the event by 77 points over the host Wildcats.

Riverside has been looking at hiring a Deputy Clerk, a new position for the city, to help around the office and fill in when someone takes time off or has a sick day. At their meeting on Thursday night the council chose one applicant for that position. Teresa Sladek is now Riversides new Deputy Clerk.

Two Pork Quality Assurance Plus training session will be in the area soon. The Iowa Pork Industry Center and Iowa State Extension are hosting these sessions for pork producers who need to be certified.
