With only hours left to file, the election for Sheriff in Keokuk County has 4 contenders. Incumbent Jeff Shipley, who was charged with OWI and had the charges dropped, is in the running. Along with Shipley are two familiar faces to the Sheriff election; Ron George, a former Keokuk County Sheriff, and Tom Hadley, who ran in the 2008 election. A newcomer to the Sheriff election will be on the ballot as well. Larry Alderson has also filled to run. The filing deadline is 5:00 today at the Keokuk County Auditor’s Office.
