The Kalona City Council held a public hearing on Monday during their meeting to discuss the potential purchase of the B4 building, which currently houses Grandma’s Corner Shop. The council voted 3-1 to not purchase the building, which would’ve been turned into a public space. Kalona City Clerk Karen Christner said there were mixed opinions in the public, and the purchase didn’t fit with the city’s current plans for the future.
