Board of Supervisors Approve Road Project Bids
Posted: March 7, 2012 @ 6:30 am In Today's Local News
The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved two grading projects as part of their meeting yesterday. County Engineer Jacob Thorius says the first project is for nearly six miles of work on 140th Street to Riverside Road.
The second is on 170th Street from Highway 1 to Orange Avenue.
Both projects were awarded to DeLong Construction in Washington. These projects are scheduled to begin later in the spring and will be done over the summer.
Also during the meeting discussion was held regarding the approval of an embargo for county roads. These embargos will be used to limit damage to the county roads. They could last up to 90 days and will have a weight limit of five tons. There are currently no embargoes in place.
During the meeting, an acknowledgement of a confinement feeding operation construction site was made as well. This is for a 720 animal unit located at 3245 Redwood Avenue in Marion Township.
