Library Receives Environmental Certification

Bruce Hamous, a representative from the United States Building Council says Washington is the third library in the state to receive this Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification behind Marshalltown and Grinnell.

This certification was given because of the way the library was built and designed. Hamous adds the library is the only other building in Washington County besides the Wellman Parkside Y to be a LEED certified building.
