Columbus Community School District has hired a new Superintendent. Dr. Marlene Johnson was a Principal at Fort Dodge Elementary since 2008. Tanya Purdy, the Board Secretary at Columbus Schools, says she was chosen partially because of her background in diversity. She will replace Richard Bridenstein, who has been the Superintendent of Columbus Community Schools for 11 years and will be retiring this year. She will start on July 1st.
