Board of Supervisors Reject Zoning Request

[1]The Washington County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing as part of their meeting yesterday regarding a county rezoning application. This request was to change a property at 1135 Gingko Avenue north of Wellman from agriculture/residential to commercial. Several neighbors of the property expressed opposition to this change. After much discussion, the Supervisors voted to deny the application.

Also at the meeting, the newly appointed Auditor Dan Widmer and Deputy Auditor Michelle Hyman received their oaths of office by Washington County Judge Dan Kitchen.
The Supervisors also passed six resolutions for the purchase of different County highway rights-of-way south and east of Richmond for the fair market value.
