New Record High Set Yesterday

Yesterday’s unseasonably warm weather meant a new record high was set for the day yesterday. Jim Hladik, National Weather Service Forecaster in the Quad Cities says warm air had been building across the plains states and a weather disturbance moving across the US-Canadian border helped to bring the warmer air into the area.
He adds with no snow cover, the air had little chance to moderate. Hladik says the warmer air will be in the area through this afternoon before dropping back to near normal in the evening and over the weekend and above normal again early next week.
The record high for yesterday in Washington was 57 set back in 1956.
