Things looked out of reach, but over the last 3:30 Mid-Prairie came back to make Iowa City Regina sweat out a 61-55 win Tuesday night. Entering the final 3:30 of play Mid-Prairie trailed by 23 points and Iowa City Regina had pulled its starters. The Golden Hawks went to work at that point, quickly chipping away to get to the Regal lead down to six with 20 seconds left as Regina frantically began to put it’s starters back in the contest. The Golden Hawks came up with yet another steal but a three point attempt with 12 seconds left to make it a one possession game was long , Regina captured the rebound and escaped the improbable comeback bid. Mid-Prairie was led by Jaemin Powell’s 18 points, Reid Miller had 15, 14 of them coming during the 4th quarter comeback. With the loss the Golden Hawks fall to 1-12 overall, 1-9 in the CVC and will return to action Friday at home against Tipton.
