Residents who have been interested in getting started in keeping bees have an opportunity to take advantage of a course being offered by the Iowa Honey Producers Association.  Currently in Iowa, about 1500 beekeepers in Iowa manage around 30,000 colonies of honeybees that produce about two million pounds of honey each year totaling three and a half million dollars.
