After receiving a $2,500 grant from Branching Out, funded by Alliant Energy, the City of Packwood was able to plant 112 trees around their baseball diamonds. They had 50 volunteers plant 32 spruce trees and 80 willow trees. There were many organizations who got involved in this project, all the way from digging holes and donating equipment to preparing lunch for the volunteers. The planting was finished on Saturday.
