If you filed an extension on your federal tax return, today is the deadline to file.  Christopher Miller, IRS Spokesman says they estimate 48,000 Iowans requested an extension this year.  He says before filing to double-check the returns for expanded individual and business tax benefits.

Miller adds filing electronically is the best option to meet the deadline.  He says payments can also be made electronically by authorizing an electric funds withdrawal or making a credit card payment.  For more information, contact the Internal Revenue Service.
