A Keota man has been sentenced after his involvement in methamphetamine production. 34 year-old Chad Kindred has been sentenced to 90 months in prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking in the summer of 2009 according to US Attorney Nicholas A. Kleinfeldt.
Kindred pled guilty to both charges in February. He has also been ordered to five years of supervised release following his imprisonment and pay $200 to the Crime Victims Fund.
Police investigation shows Kindred has been found responsible for obtaining pseudoephedrine pills from a number of individuals and cooking methamphetamine in out-buildings on a farm near Wellman. He was also ultimately responsible for the manufacture of 330 grams of actual methamphetamine.
Kindred is the third to be sentenced in this case. In July, 46 year old Preston Enlow was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 37 year old Nathan Trier was sentenced to 5 years in prison as well.
This case was investigated by the Washington-Louisa Drug Task Force, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Keota, Iowa, Police Department, and the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement, and was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
