The Washington County Hospital and Clinics is welcoming a general surgeon to their staff.  Dr. Rick Shelman comes to Washington County Hospital and Clinics with a degree from the University of Iowa School of Medicine.  He comes from Surgical Services of Iowa City.

Dr. Shelman will consult patients on Wednesdays starting next week at Surgical Healthcare of Washington. His areas of interest include Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Anorectal Surgery, Breast Surgery, Colon Surgery, Hernia Repair, Nissen Fundoplication, Port Placement and Central Lines, Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy, and Varicose Vein Surgery/Ablation.
