The Washington County Safety Center has finished installing their new phone system.  Cara Sorrells with the Safety Center says the Position Viper/Next Generation 911 system was installed last week and will have the capability of accepting text messages in the future.

She says a third answering point was being added as well as the local database equipment was updated to maintain remarks associated with phone records to help emergency responders.

The dispatchers have received the training on the new system and it went live at midnight.
