Keota Man Receives Permission to Begin Downtown Reconstruction
Posted By News On @ 6:23 am In Today's Local News | Comments Disabled
The city of Keota has announced it will begin to rebuild its downtown area. Five buildings on Main Street were lost in a December fire, but the owner of those buildings is ready to bring forward a new downtown landscape.
Bill Miller is the owner of the five properties along Main Street, but recently requested to construct structures that would extend five feet beyond his property lines. City Clerk Niki Osweiler says the city council approved Miller’s request, and to comply with city code, the city held a public hearing on the matter.
She says no resident rejected his proposal, so Miller can begin construction.
City Attorney Janice Becker is in the process of writing up the deeds for the new property which allow him to begin replacing the old buildings.
