The Columbus cross country teams ran at Benton Community Saturday against a very strong field. Columbus Head Coach Mike Jay says there are a lot of good teams at that meet. On the boys side out of twelve teams, Columbus finished fifth and were seven points out of third. Individually they had three finish in the top 25.

Ray Quiroz 17th
Eli Sents 25th
On the girls side Columbus was seventh. He says there were four ranked teams that finished ahead of them, on in 1A and three in 3A. Individually Columbus was led by Caitlin Chaney who finished 28th.
Jay says everyone ran a faster time than they did last year. Columbus next heads to Fort Madison on Thursday.
