Drivers on a Washington County highway will see slowdowns beginning this week.  Construction work on U.S. Highway 218 between Highway 92 at Ainsworth and Highway 22 near Riverside will restrict traffic to one lane in each direction.

The work begins tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. and will continue throughout the day until 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays.  Motorists will be assisted through the work zone by flaggers.

According to the Department of Transportation’s Mt. Pleasant construction office, the project is expected to be completed by October 31.
