Weekend Accident Sends Driver to the Hospital

Approximately 10:30 Saturday night, the Washington County Safety Center received a report of a single vehicle accident in front of 1260 Highway 22 in Wellman. Emergency units responded and taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City by the Washington County Ambulance was 36 year old Robert James Shindelar of Washington.

The accident remains under investigation with charges pending by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Others responding to the scene were the Wellman Volunteer Fire Department, Wellman Rescue and Wellman First Responders.
