Senate Internships Available
Posted: July 14, 2011 @ 6:23 am In Today's Local News
College students interested in learning more about how the Federal Government works, have an opportunity to learn how. Senator Tom Harkin has announced his office is accepting applications for both part-time and full-time internships in his office in Washington, D.C., the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee that the Senator chairs, and his five offices in Iowa.
Senator Harkin says his political career started as an intern for Representatives Neal Smith and Fred Schwengel. These internships are designed for college undergraduates, graduates and law students.
Interns will help the staff in the areas of legislation, press, casework and outreach to the state. Applications are due by July 22nd, and to apply for an internship with Senator Harkin, look here [2] or contact the Intern Coordinator 202-224-3254.
