State Baseball Tournament Underway in Des Moines

The Iowa High School Baseball Tournament got underway in Des Moines yesterday with a couple of Class 2A games. Carroll Keumper had a two run lead before breaking things open in the bottom of the sixth to win 7-0 over North Fayette. In the other game, Gilbert won with a walk off two out single to right to beat North Polk 2-1.

The Washington Demons will be in action at the state tournament on Tuesday. Washington will face ADM, Adel.

Knowing if You Have West Nile Virus

There are currently no West Nile Virus cases reported in humans or animals in Iowa, but the summer flooding in western Iowa has increased the number of mosquitoes in that part of the state.
