A Washington agency has been chosen to receive a grant to help prevent child abuse.  Parents as Teachers has been awarded over $10,000 from the Iowa Child Abuse Prevention Program.  The Washington Against Child Abuse and Neglect was started as a need to help families find safe places for their children when a family experienced a crisis.

They will be working with Parents as Teachers in managing the funds from Federal and state appropriations and birth certificate fees as well as from Iowan’s income tax returns.
