A Keota man has been sentenced after his involvement in methamphetamine production. 37 year-old Nathan Trier has been sentenced to five years in prison for conspiring to distribute at least 5 grams of methamphetamine from June 2008 through July 13, 2010, and for possessing a firearm as a felon.
Eric Weber, Director of the Washington County Drug Task Force says two others have been charged in connection with the meth lab, which police discovered in rural Wellman in the summer of 2009. Weber says Trier is the first to be sentenced of the three involved in the case.
The second will be sentenced Thursday, and the sentencing date for the third is yet to be determined. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa, and investigated by the Washington County Drug Task Force, Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Keota Police Department.
