Early Morning Storm Causes House Fire

Just before 7:00 yesterday morning, the Washington County Safety Center received a report that lightning struck a residence at 2962 Coppock Road causing a fire in one of the upper floor bedrooms. The Washington Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Damage was isolated to the one room.

No injuries were reported and the Red Cross was contacted for assistance to the family. Others responding to the scene were personnel from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
