Organizers say a fundraiser for a Kalona woman will go on as planned.  Jody Schudel had been in the midst of a five year battle against cancer, but the rare form of brain cancer took her life this week.  Friends and family had put together a fundraiser for Schudel scheduled for Saturday, and two auctions were among several activities to raise money to help her with medical payments.

Organizer Ferrell Ulin says the event will still take place, as many area residents and businesses have donated items the last few weeks.  She says a bake sale will also be part of the day’s events.  The fundraiser is at 10:00 tomorrow at the Iowa Mennonite School.
