Results from today’s special election to approve $9.5 million to renovate the old high school building in Washington has failed to pass. District Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen says the bond issue received 51.5% of the vote in favor, but did not reach the 60% needed to pass. The building will still be used as the middle school, with the possibility of some minor renovations in the future. 25% of eligible voters turned out for the special election.
