The Washington County Extension and 4-H offer many opportunities for area kids to get out and learn, and some had the chance to show their stripes in a day camp.  The Extension held a “Welcome to the Jungle” Day Camp at Kalona City Park yesterday.  Day Camp Coordinator Jodi Ebert says 30 pre-kindergarteners attended the camp.  She says they learned about jungle habitats, how animals use stripes and spots for camouflage, and jungle trees, and also created their own safari vests before going on their own jungle safari.  Several area high school students joined Ebert in leading the camps.
