Pork Producers Encouraged to Sign Up for Pork Quality Program
Posted: May 9, 2011 @ 6:22 am In Today's Local News
The Washington County Extension is hosting a program put on by the Iowa Pork Industry Center and Iowa State University. The session will be held at the Washington County Extension office on May 24th, and administrative assistant Nancy Adrian says anyone who plans to attend should let the office know as soon as possible to ensure everyone will have adequate materials.
The Pork Quality Assurance Plus program is intended to help pork producers maintain a food safety tradition that ensures that U.S. pork products continue to be recognized both domestically and internationally as the highest quality and safest available. Cost for the certification program is 25 dollars per person and you can pay that fee at the door. To pre-register, contact the Washington County Extension.
