Most, if not all residents of Letts experienced an outage with their phone service yesterday.  Letts is a community of about 350 in Louisa County.  Scott Morris, spokesman for Windstream says a problem with the switch that routes the calls from their central office.

He says 320 residents were completely without service, even a dial tone, which means no 9-1-1 service was available.  However, broadband connections were not affected because that service is routed through another office.

Phone service was restored soon after Windstream identified the problem.
