Road construction will restrict traffic on Highway 1 in Jefferson County this month.  Patching work will be done on Highway 1 in Fairfield, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant office.  During the construction, the road will be closed and traffic will be assisted through the work area by flaggers and a pilot car.  The open lane will have a 12-foot width restriction, and traffic will return to normal when workers are not present.  The DOT expects the patching project to be completed in about a week.
