The tornado siren on Washington's S. Marion Avenue [1]

As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, Iowa held a statewide tornado drill this morning that Washington took part in.  The purpose is to encourage residents and emergency officials to think about their plans if a tornado was to hit.  During this time of year, when warranted, the National Weather Service puts out watches and warnings.

At KCII, when a warning is issued, we provide Severe Weather Action Team coverage for the duration of the warning.  This coverage includes reports from WeatherEye meteorologists, as well as spotters and emergency officials from around the area.

We invite you to tune into KCII for up to the minute severe weather coverage.
