Being Prepared During Severe Weather
Posted: April 8, 2011 @ 6:22 am In Today's Local News
Severe Weather Awareness Week ends today and KCII has been working with the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities all this week on looking at different topics related to severe weather. We have focused on flash flooding, warning reception, tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. Today, we will talk about family preparedness.
National Weather Service Meterologist John Hasse says families should be prepared for severe weather to happen at any time. He says having a weather radio is one of the best ways to be prepared.
Hasse says these radios can be set to alert you of any severe weather as soon as a watch or warning is issued. He adds the radios can be programmed to specific counties to let you know about weather approaching.
To learn more about preparedness, listen to today’s In Touch With Southeast Iowa program.
